Exploration and discovery are the basis of any research. Children have to find out what is out there to learn. They have to touch it, examine it, taste it, and smell it.
Finding out how something works requires experimentation, trial and error, hypotheses, and design. Changing variables, forecasting, and trends analysis help deepen understanding.
Knowledge must be shared. Students need opportunities to show what they know, to show their newly acquired skills, or express their opinions.
